For this project, I wanted to visualize time in a poetic and abstract way, that still had a basis in some of our perceptions of time. Here, each color circle represents an hour in a 24 hour cycle. The colors of the circles change in a gradient each second, cycling between the assigned colors of the hours they represent. For instance, if Blue is 3pm and Pink is 4pm, every second during the 3pm hour, the color will change within this gradient from Blue to Pink, until 4pm. Then, the circle will change to Pink, and a new gradient will occur between the 4pm color of Pink and whatever the next hour’s color is.
In addition, there are rings around some of the circles, but some circles do not have this feature. This represents hours which have passed, and hours which are yet to pass. The ringless hours have yet to occur. Furthermore, every minute, the circle will change position on the screen.
